There are many link shortening services out there, but one of them is a little bit more than just an link shortener service. Ity.im is the name of it and you earn money by shortening your links.

There are 5 ways of earning money from Ity.im, the combined link shortener and ad network.

The first and easiest way of making money is using the link shortener. For everyone that clicks on your links you earn money from the ads shown. After the person following your shortened links end up at the destination page there's a small bar on top of the page and if they click on the text ads in that bar, you earn more money (somewhere between $0.06 up to $0.50 per click).

If you refer a new user to Ity.im you get referral fees as a thank you . There are three ways of earning money with the referral fees, you get both the referral fee, sometimes bonuses and there are also contests you can win.

By activating a service called AdFrame you can show your own ads at the bottom of the pages you link to using the link shortener. This is perfect for banner exchanges, affiliate programs or to refer more people to Ity.im.

The fist way to earn money from Ity.im is to ad banners on your web site. Simple and I don't think any more explanations are needed of that way

Commissions in the information marketing world can range from 50-75 percent, and sometimes can be as much as 100 percent.

Many information marketers forego the affiliate network tactic for two main reasons:

Myth: Affiliates cost you money.

Now, agreed, 50 percent of your revenue may seems like a lot of clams to shell out for your affiliates… but think of it this way:

50 percent of something is… MORE THAN NOTHING.

In other words, affiliates drive customers to you that may never have heard of your product, thereby ADDING to your bottom line, not taking away your hard-earned revenues. Each and every sale by an affiliate should be viewed as added revenue that you would not have otherwise earned.

Myth: It takes a lot of time to set up and manage an affiliate program.

Affiliate programs can be as complex as you want them to be. You can take a completely hands-off approach and use a system like Clickbank or Shareasale that will put you in touch with a database of affiliates looking for products to promote (the site takes a share of your revenues in exchange for managing your program). Or you can create your own affiliate program using a service like e-Junkie for as little as $5 a month. It’s up to you.

And while you can spend hours creating materials for your affiliates and training them about your products, that’s time invested in selling. Remember: Each sale an affiliate makes adds to your bottom line.

100% Commission All Month Long from Xavier Media®

Today, I’m sitting at my computer, about to launch a new site and I’m going through Clickbank, looking for potential affiliate programs to promote.

Not only am I considering personally promoting the products that I find, but I may recommend that customers who purchase my PLR articles at EasyPLR.com promote them, too.

Time and time again, I’m shaking my head, wondering if these Internet Marketers realize how many potential affiliates they are losing, as I click the red “x” and go to the next product. And, of course, this isn’t only a problem with the products listed at places like Clickbank (and it certainly isn’t a reflection of the quality of Clickbank, itself).

Affiliate Programs everywhere are lacking in their professionalism and respect for their affiliates.

It’s pretty obvious that many people don’t realize what turns off a potential affiliate. Could it be, perhaps, that the people writing and marketing these ebooks have not been successful at Affiliate Marketing themselves?

After much frustration, I’ve decided to run through my list of reasons I did not choose your product to promote, and, instead chose your competition.

1. Your page is gaudy and unappealing.
Now, we all know the saying that ‘Ugly sites sell’. That’s absolutely true. A plain blue or white background with Arial text can make millions. However, a site that looks like a sparkly, flashy mess and gives your visitors a seizure is not cool. Leave the cursors alone. Don’t stick animation on there. And, for goodness sakes, stick with only one or two fonts, please.

2. Typos and spelling errors.
This one is actually kind of frightening. If the product you’re selling is an e-BOOK then please act like you know how to write. Have a friend or even an enemy read and reread your sales letter for you. If you don’t have any friends or enemies, then pay someone. Just don’t try to sell an e-book on a sales page that looks like a third grader wrote it. It’s not going to sell. At least I’m not going to sell it.

3. You offer sales options that I won’t get affiliate credit for on the sales page.
For instance, you list an electronic and a hard-cover version of your book through amazon. Tacky! Why should I send you traffic through Clickbank so that you can make a commission on amazon? Not a chance. Or even worse, you have both a Clickbank button and a paypal button.

And, my #1 biggest irritant –

4. You’ve got google ads or actually have the guts to sell advertising on your page. (And, no, I’m not joking here.) I don’t even need to go there. Anyone who’s a successful affiliate knows that this is the sign of death for any affiliate program.

So, there you have it. Four reasons why your competition is getting my business and you are not.

It's time to review another affiliate network, and this time it's a review of FlexOffers.com. On their web site they claim to have unique affiliate content, deep links, XML feeds, and an API to deliver content to your web site. I really like affiliate networks with many API and XML features because that means you don't have to search manually for a specific banner. You can instead just integrate the feeds directly into your current CMS or banner rotator and get fresh banners all the time without work.

Another good thing is that they have a Refer-A-Friend program where you can earn money by referring people to their service. Both you and the person you referred will get $150!! However the bad thing here is that you don't earn your $150 until the person you referred has earn at least $2000. A percentage of the earnings would have been so much better because what if the person you refer only earns $1999 before he finds another affiliate program that's better and signs up for that one instead. Then you don't get anything at all as thank you for referring this person

Like all other affiliate networks you sign up with your site and other details and after they've reviewed your site you get access to their offers. You even get assigned an affiliate manager:

I've learned that if it sounds too good to be true it is, and it's completely correct in the case of FlexOffers. When you apply for offers with them you get an email saying this:

I just received an email from our Compliance Department, notifying me, that you were declined for all the programs, prior to know for which domain are you going to use all of them and in which way.

When you sign up for FlexOffers you give them details about your site like domain name (i.e. where you're going to promote their affiliate programs) and some information describing your site. Isn't it clear when you sign up with a domain that you intend to use it, and that you sign up for an affiliate network to get content you can earn money on (i.e. banners, text links etc)? So based on this FlexOffers is just a big waste of time!

All offers found at FlexOffers can of course also be found at Commission Junction or some other affiliate networks, so you really don't have to sign up with just FO to get a special affiliate program. It works just as fine (and in this case even better) with Commission Junction. What I really like with CJ is that they offer payments directly to bank accounts in more countries than just in US like FlexOffers only offering.

FlexOffers – a big waste of time from Xavier Media®

For a long time now Yahoo has been offering the best search API for anyone to use to build their own search engine (like XavierSeek.com) or any other online application using search results. Now they've also made it possible for you to earn money using sponsored search results.

A lot of developers have requested this from Yahoo, and it's a pretty natural way to go for Yahoo. By letting people use their search results in their applications and search engines Yahoo get a huge visitor base (even outside their own search engine). Now with the sponsored search results developers can start monetizing on the work they've spent hours and hours on developing, and Yahoo can also get a share of that

To start earning money from this you have to first build your own application or search engine using the Yahoo BOSS API (read more about the API here). It's not that hard and in a later article I will tell you a little bit on how we built XavierSeek.com using the Yahoo API. Yahoo also got some sample code to show you a really simple way to use the API.

Once you've done something nice from the API, you need to sign up with Domain Development Corp (DDC). Yes, that's correct DDC. You're not signing up with Yahoo, but instead one of their authorized syndicators.

I don't really like the idea of using a third party instead of signing up directly with yahoo, and I'm little bit unsure about Yahoo's reasons for this. But it may not be that big deal, since DDC have been authorized by Yahoo so it may just be me being a little bit on the wrong mood
