&lt;h2&gt;What Are RSS Feeds?&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;RSS Stands for Really Simple Syndication;Traditionally it is used to publish news articles across the news networks online.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This is similar to how newspapers publish stories, newspaper groups have a “syndication officer” who is responsible for emailing the stories around the newspaper groups ready for printing. RSS feeds make this process a whole lot quicker and easier.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;RSS feeds are programmed using XML… See attached sheet for further info.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h2&gt;Where To Start&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;1) Create Your Feeds.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Before you can linkbuild using RSS Feeds you need to first have a feed!!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;If your site is based on a blog you will automatically have a rss feed,&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.andy-morley.co.uk/feed/"&gt;www.andy-morley.co.uk/feed/&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;If not you can write them manually (see attached sheet)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;These feeds will list your site web pages, with a title and a description. Be careful how your titles appear as these will form the “Hyper Text” of your link back.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;2) Ping &amp;#038; Submit Your Feeds.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This stage is similar to directory submissions which you should all be aware of. You will be submitting to &lt;strong&gt;RSS Aggregators&lt;/strong&gt; instead of directories.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;What is an Aggregator?&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Definition: &lt;em&gt;An aggregate is a collection of items that are gathered together to form a total quantity.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;An online “RSS Aggregator” website is simply a directory of RSS feeds, these aggregators are then used by other websites who “scrape” content to display on their own pages.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Pinging.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Pinging signals to RSS feed aggregators and directories that your RSS feed has been updated, otherwise they may not realize that new content is available. There are a number of automated ping services available.&lt;strong&gt;Ping-O-Matic&lt;/strong&gt; is free and effective.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;One of the reasons WordPress blogs rank well and quickly is that they have a “Pinging” function built in, so whenever you publish an article it sends a “Ping” to services like ping-o-matic etc…&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Submissions.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This is very similar to directory submissions, however you are submitting an XML Feed not a full website. You will be submitting to these RSS Aggregators from above.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;You have to submit your Feeds to these directories/aggregators in order for the “scraper” sites to find your content, the more sites you submit to the better.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Tactics.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;There are &lt;strong&gt;3 main tactics&lt;/strong&gt; people use when submitting their Feeds.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;                &lt;strong&gt;A) Create a “Master” Feed&lt;/strong&gt; – This is a combination of all your RSS feeds, useful if you are working with a few sites and trying to link build all of them. You can “combine” your various RSS feeds into one “master” by using tools such as &lt;strong&gt;Yahoo Pipes&lt;/strong&gt; or &lt;strong&gt;RSS Mix&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This method in theory saves you time submitting RSS Feeds individually, however it can have varying results, some aggregators won’t except feeds from these combination sites.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;                &lt;strong&gt;B) Submit RSS Feeds individually&lt;/strong&gt; – This is fairly straight forward, more time consuming but more effective in my opinion. Aggregators usually except individual submissions.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;                &lt;strong&gt;C) Ping &amp;#038;Submit Individual Posts&lt;/strong&gt; – Some people believe that submitting individual blog posts is the best way at creating backlinks, I can’t comment on this really as I haven’t tried it. In theory it is better for “niche” aggregators / directories, and better for creating &lt;strong&gt;Deep Links&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;3) Automation&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Now your feeds have been submitted, your link building will be on &lt;strong&gt;Auto Pilot&lt;/strong&gt; to some extent. The Aggregators have been given the address to your “RSS Feed” whenever you add to your feed (manually or automatically via blogging) the aggregators update as well. The new content in your feed is then scraped by the scraper sites and links are built.&lt;/p&gt;
