O2 is offering 6 months free broadband if you sign up with them and have been a customer with them for more than 2 years. If you haven't been a customer with them you get only 3 months, but that's pretty good that too

For £26 a month you get 2.5 meg upload speed, static IP address, free phone support, up to 10 email addresses, O2 Calendar, McAfee Security and 500 web texts a month. If you think that's too expensive you can always choose the option for £17.50 a month where you don't get any static IP address with a maximum upload speed of 1.3 meg and only 200 web texts a month.

If you are already an existing customer with O2 you get a £5 discount per month for their broadband packages, so it pays to be a faithful customer and get everything from one supplier.

One interesting feature is that if you bring a friend you get a reward. The deal is that if your friend signs up, you both get £20 to spend at either Amazon.co.uk, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, or to give to charity. Or you can get an Xbox LIVE 12 month Gold membership. How to use multiple background colors

Not many people have discovered that you can use multiple background colors on your banners, which is just too bad since that will add some extra life to your banner. The banners you create will also attrack the eyes of the visitors much easier and therefore result in better conversion rates

In this article I will show you how to create banners with multiple background colors that blend into each other.

First visit the banner creator at CreateBanner.com and select the banner size of your choice. Then scroll down to the background color choice and select "gradient color".

That will give you two color selection boxes, one for the upper background color and another one for the lower background color. As default they two colors are gray and white, which is kind of boring.

It's easy to select the background colors to use, just click on the colors you want and the banner will be updated with the background color you clicked on . If you know the HTML code for a color you would like to use just fill in the color code in the boxes under the color tables. That will update the background on your banner to use the color code you selected instead of one of the pre-defined in the color table. This option is great if you already know the color code, or if you want your banner to match your company colors or web site design.

By playing around with the color tables you can create some nice and "interesting" backgrounds for your banners. Just look at the examples I created:

Finally it's time for what all the Google users been waiting several years on: Google has announced that they will remove the beta status from Gmail and maybe some other services.

The beta stauts means that their services are not completely tested and some bugs may still be there. The usual with something in beta testing is that it's only going to be like that for a few weeks, at most a couple of months. The thing with Google is that their services has been in beta for several years , but now they're going to change it.

So why will they change away from beta if their services has been like that for several years? The thing is called business users!

If Google want companies to start using Gmail (and their other services) instead of like Outlook, then they have to remove the beta status since companies don't want to use untested software for their live and business critical operations. Gmail in beta status may be perfectly find for private persons and small companies, but not the big once.

Now it's just up to Google to make companies like their services too.

A couple of days ago we asked for suggestions for new banner sizes and we got two really good suggestions from our visitors:

We need the 250×250 square and some of the other rectangular banners.

This is a fun website. I have never created a banner ad or anything else resembling website stuff. But I am willing to learn how. However, the banner I need to create is for an ad in a magazine called Invision. It is presently not available on your list of sizes on your website. The ad they have offered me is 180 x730 pixels. It would be great to get one of your free VIP memberships for this and greatly appreciated.

We're planning to expand the banner sizes we let you all create so we need you to suggest new sizes.

Is there any special size you're missing or do you think we got them all covered? At the moment we offer the following banner sizes, but is that enough?

468×60 – Banner
728×90 – Leaderboard
120×60 – Small button 1
125×60 – Small button 2
120×90 – Medium button 1
125×90 – Medium button 2
125×125 – Medium button 3
120×600 – Skyscraper
160×600 – Wide skyscraper

Anyone suggesting a banner size we're implementing in the banner creator tool will get a free one year VIP membership as thanks so hurry up and suggest new banner sizes.A one year VIP membership is worth about $35/year.

What do you do with your newly created banner? Well we have several options for you to spread the word about your banner. You can for example post it to your Twitter time line or you can send it by email to your friends (or to yourself).

How to tweet about your banner

Inside the banner creator when you've successfully saved your banner you simply just click on the Twitter icon.

A special link (a really short one) will be created thanks to our partnership with 2ve.org and you'll be taken to the Twitter homepage where you can fill in a message to acompany your banner.

Once you've tweeted about your banner anyone of your followers can follow the link to CreateBanner.com to see your banner and to get the needed HTML code. They can't change the banner or copy it to the editor, but they can use it on their homepage for example.

How to email your banner

When you've saved your banner you can send it to someone by email. By using the email icon in the toolbar you'll be taken to the email form:

Once you've filled in the email addresses and a short message to your friend, you can send the email. There's no need to include the link to your baner since that's done automatically.

How to spread the word about your banners

Use borders on your banners

Did you know that you can have borders on the banners you create here at Createbanner.com?

It's really easy and you can add borders on all banner sizes. In the banner creator tool you just change "No border" to the size you want on your border:

One pixel is the smallest border you can have and 15 pixels the thickest border possible. When we use borders on banners we usually use just 1 or 2 pixels, but if you're creating a big banner (for example 728×90) a thicker border could look nice. Since it's so easy to change border size, we recommend you to try different sizes before you decide.

When you're happy with the size of your border then it's time to select a border color. Select the color you prefer in the color selector table by clicking on the desired color. As default the border color is black, but that may not always work out great depending on the background colors on your banner. Black may also be too dark for your banner.

If you can't find a color you like you can also write the HTML color code value directly into the text box to use that color instead. For some example color codes, please have a look at html.xaviermedia.com.

This is how the banner we've created during this tutorial using a 4 pixels border and #6699FF as border color:
